Default Yamaha Off Road Experience, Any one done it?

Going to do this at the begining of next month with my bro over at Golden Barn Raceway in Brighton.

http://www.yamaha-schools.co.uk/

Really looking forward to it, being let loose on a 450.

Anyone else done it?

No, did the CAS Honda one a few years back though.

Its brutal, you will hurt everywhere. We couldn't move for about two weeks afterwards

Fantastic fun though, do it.

I did the Yamaha one last year at Brighton and CAS Honda the year before. I couldn't walk for a week after doing the Honda one but Yamaha split us into groups so we spent less time on the bikes but we were using that time more constructively. At Brighton they had two race 450's which they let the best two go on....those bikes were animals!

Let us know how it goes. Looks really appealing. Just hope its not like those waste of time and money track days (supercar) 4 laps for a £100. I fully expected they would let me loose and rip up the tarmack. How wrong I was... The fella told me when to brake/shift/accelerate and if you stepped out of line he wern't impressed. I was bored out my brains. He asked if I enjoyed it - I was blunt, said NO and asked if I could have a quick blast on the SV which I had driven to the track. Obviously it was a no!

But anyways! This looks wicked. Hope you enjoy it. get lots of air under those tires!

Mine was nothing like that. On the CAS honda one they give you a bike a have a stock of 125/250/450's waiting for you to swap between. You can ride all day bar 30mins for lunch. If you total a bike, take it back to the trailer and swap it for another one

The Yamaha one was more organised, we were in three groups so got about 20mins riding per hour and we only has a 250 to ride on until the last session where the good people could take a 450 out.

Well worth the money I'd say, especially as all the kit is included too.

Yes, did it at Golding Barn.
Brilliant day, good mix of tutorial and arsing about.
No armour was provided though, and the rest of the kit was pretty minging so I'd take your own if you can.

By the end of the afternoon I could clear the tabletop on the WR250, though they dont encourage it

Yes, about 9 years ago at Bolton.
Great day, advice and tuition if needed.

They split us into 2 groups depending on ability. 'Anybody done it before?' Yes, once. 'OK, over their' (experienced group) - mistake!
You'll be well knackered the next day.

Try this, half day greenlaning £75, 2 hr trails session £40 (I doubt you'd want more if you're not used to it!)

I did the Honda one a while ago. Same as Andyb, 125/250/450 to choose from. As I'd never done off road riding before, I was advised not to take the 450 out. TBH I spent all day on the 250 and never wanted for more power.

It was huge huge amount of fun, It did take several days before I could walk properly again and I ached in all sorts of strange places.

I feel off twice, 1st time over the handlebars, 2nd time lowsided into a corner ( I think it was all bit sudden ! ) I was thinking to myself just before the 2nd off, that I was getting tired and I would do just one more lap...

Eat plenty and drink plenty to. It really is physically hard work, but I found it immensley enjoyable.
