Bikes and rented property

I was wondering if anyone had experience of keeping a motorbike inside the entrance hallway of a rented house/apartment. Would a prospective landlord let me do it or make a fuss If I sneaked it in without permission?

My 750 is very house trained, she doesn't wee coolant or poo oil anywhere. A garage is out of the question due to cost of living and she doesn't like the winter cold or dampness associated with being kept outdoors.

Can't see it being a problem as long as nothing leaks and you don't do burn outs in the hall way
Ask him to right a clause into the contract stating the bike can be kept their but if any damage occurs to the walls, floors, door frames etc, etc, etc, then you are held responsible.

Don't think you'll be allowed to unfortunately because of fire regulations.

If he has buildings insurance there is a very good chance that it stipulates no petrol to be kept inside the building. So you would have to drain the tank first.

Erm not sure that a landlord would like it, as has been said fire regulations for one but also the wear and tear of bringing a bike in and out of the house.

Also you would need to check about house content insurance and see is anything in there that would void their policy if it were that your bike, with a petrol tank caught fire?!

Storing petrol inside is a no no when it comes to insurance. Could you rent a garage?

possibly but I'm unlikely to get one at an appropriate price and location.

My 750 stayed outside very happily for years - as do all my bikes. They're tough!

yup afraid so. No petrol containers inside house or insurance nul and void.
I was always rather relieved that you could never get a bike anywhere near a kitchen or living room, or I wouldn't be able to see the TV for bikes!!!

Not sure if this will be all landlords but after finally getting caught with his bike in the house by the landlord (table cloth over it and a vase on top did the trick on numerous occasions) my mate got chucked out.
