Hi,
I've done a search on the forums and wonder if there are any more things I can try to rectify this problem. When I turn the ignition key, all the regular lights and such show up, I don't hear the fuel pump pressurising and have FI showing on the display. If I turn the key on and off it will eventually start to work. I searched for solutions and will try giving the ignition key slot a squirt with WD, as was advised in a previous post. is there anything else that could be worth a go before I take it in to the shop? I have only just got back from an extra week stranded in Tenerife courtesy of that Icelandic volcano, so would appreciate any money saving tips that could be given! Cheers |

The kill switch was in the on position, but I did try flicking it on and off a couple of times in case it wasn't made - perhaps that could do with a squirt too !

Does the dash come up with "CHEC" (i think thats what it says) where the temperature should be when you switch on the ignition?

I don't see it saying "chec" - I just have "FI" in the display, and the fuel warning light stays on, although it has a tank full of petrol.
Gave it a squirt of WD this morning into the ignition switch, it only took 3 off and ons before I was able to start, so I'm wondering if there may be a loose contact, but I'll try the switches that dp mentioned - thanks |

Update,
I gave the ignition barrel a good dousing with WD and the fuel pump hasn't failed to come on since Nice cheap fix - lovely! I post this as a lot of the posts I found when searching this problem didn't have any follow-ups, hope this helps someone else! |
