who has done it and what ways are there to do it
ps this is a minimum budget thing so would be looking to use the risers from my sv forks i have head about filling the yoke then drilling it ? how do you get the holes in the right place ? other option ? ps looked at bar clip thing but they require the forks to be quite high in the yokes as they atach to the fork tubes poping out the top of the yoke and that would make the forks like 1 lower than stock and i dont want them that low |

You didn't read Rictus's advice in your thread 'Which GSXR forks - yet again'. Its not a good idea
http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=150218 Just get a yoke from 998cc.com

£154 is nuts.
Buy a chunk of alloy plate, cut it to fit the holes in the bottom of the yoke. Liquid metal it in there or weld it. Drill holes. Regarding how to get the holes in the right place... it's not hard. Look online for some general measuring and marking out stuff and all will become clear if you think about it. Alternatively go to someone who's a good alloy welder and get them welded directly on. Personally I don't like this as the HAZ could be brittle.

That should do it.
It is not critical TBH as it just needs to spread the load from bars out around yoke. I used 10mm though as it nearly filled the cavity under yoke and gave you enough meat to drill and tap holes for clock mounting.

ok well im not fitting standard clocks (others are smashed beyond repair) so will look at that when i get there
but will need to check the depth of the yoke before getting the plate unless you know the depth of the gsxr1000 k2 yoke cheers |

It doesn't need to be completely filled but 10mm is good thickness as you can bolt in spacers etc.
Don't go about projects with "I'll think about it when I get there" plan right from the start then you don't have to bodge later. A minutes thinking here will save you 10 minutes head scratching later.
