Anyone got any experience? Fancy ordering a second hand exhaust from over there or maybe even new. One of my best friends lives over there so could send it to me.
Will they not be E marked then? What sort of import duty will I be looking at? |

I think the helmet is a safety item so no tax?
I have a 'friend' that order an exhaust from the states that was £360, in the UK they are £590. The item was marked as 'warranty repair/replacement' and therefore avoided import taxes.

I got a rear shock from States, did not have any problem with tax. I have been stung for VAT on a set of discs though.
Have a read up of parcelfarces procedures with regards their "handling fees" and don't just pay up.

Have your friend remove the invoice (and send seperately) and place a birthday card to you inside the box.
It's now a gift! Works a treat!!!! So I've heard. ![]()

If its marked as a gift, or if the value is misrepresented, then that is Tax Fraud.
So add about 25% to the price and see if its still a bargain, if it is and you get hit for tax/import duty then you are still on a winner - and if they DONT hit for it then bonus.

Yeh i'm not mucking about with avoidance, just wanted to know how it works. After VAT and 5% duty it's still £100 cheaper (less postage) but would it be road legal here or have the wrong markings?
