Hi folks,
Anyone know how these bikes compare when restricted? Is the 1000 much more powerful than the 650 or is it choked to death by the restrictor? Which would you recommend? Thanks. |

cant comment on the 1000cc but ive got a K9 650 restricted and to be honest bottom end i dont really notice a difference. Im sure there is a difference if only slightly but i only used it a couple of time prior to putting the restrictor in. i notice more of a difference at the top speed.....like 80 - 100.....takes a bit longer getting there but still quick enough to get you out of trouble should you need it......

I've tried a restricted 650, and it was roughly equivalent to losing the top couple of thousand rpm. The engine revved out, it just didn't do much with it.
There's enough 'go' to have a laugh, but you'll find it a bit more sluggish than usual above 80, and you won't get anything much at all above 100, as yawny said. |

there is no point in getting a 1000 restricted ..
all the 33bhp bikes i have ridden have the same sort of top speed it just how they get there differs but they all seem to crawl up to the top speeds after 80 but some still have good power other just dont seem to have any power at all (il4 that i rode was dead boring no punch at all un like the sv) Last edited by barwel1992; 15-06-10 at 02:09 PM. |

I didn't know you could restrict a thou. No idea if a restricted ECU is available but these old chaps do supply a kit: http://www.fiinternational.com/ShowD...00&type=Suzuki
An ECU restriction would be better though.

YC do you think the 650 would be faster than the 1000 restricted, just wondering about the power to weight ratio

I would 100% get the 650, what's the incentive of having a thou if it's roundabout the same power as the lighter, more nimble (reportedly), cheaper running, 650?
