will the standard SV front master cylinder be able to power the 4 pot gold brembo's off the rsv mille front end (2000 front end, same brakes as 2002-2005 tuono non r model)
look the same as these or is it worth getting a brembo one to match any way ? thanks |

Yeah it will work.
Brembo is great if you can afford.

I keep meaning to try RC51 one. Also radial one from late GSXR might be worth a try, or one from late R6.
TBH see whether you need it with those caliper. With tokico 4 pots of SRAD I run out of balls before I run out of brakes.

Calipers do not care which direction master cylinder is pointing, neither does master cylinder care which way caliper bolts are pointing.
All you are interested in is area of pistons. Ratio of piston area gives you ratio of force. For example size of pistons in SRAD works well with 5/8" MC

ahh ok now i get it, just kept seeing radial master c advertised and thought there might be something more to it
well if thats the case, is there away to find out the correct MC for the piston area. |

Extreme cases;
Too small = Not enough swept volume to bring pads into hard contact with discs = no brakes Too big = not enough pressure advantage to stop you Cases you care about: 14mm MC, lots of movement in the lever, LOADS of advantage though so not much force required. 15.87mm MC (5/8" = stock), Mix of firm lever and power. bigger ones, 17mm or 19mm like RC51, firmer lever, less mechanical advantage but feels rock solid and lots of people like this feel. Brembo do you whatever, you can get different bores and strokes (stroke gives you idea of initial mechanical advantage in lever) you can even get RCS where you can adjust mechanical leverage while you ride So long as brakes work there is no right/wrong just different feel. IMO use your stock MC to check they work and think about changing later.
