Going over tomorrow morning. Do I need a hi viz vest, warning triangle and headlight deflectors for riding over there?
I've got a CBR600RR just in case it makes any difference to the headlights question. |

The warning triangle and retro-reflective jacket rules do not apply to bikes
You could fit headlamp deflectors but I didn't bother and had no hassle, and mine's an HID close to a foot higher than your CBR. By law you must use dipped beams during the day You should take all your original documents with you, photocopies will not suffice if you are stopped or questioned, that's Passport, V5c, Driving License (both parts) Insurance certificate (have you told them you're going) Watch out for petrol stations not functioning with credit cards, take euros in cash Oh, and don't forget your EHIC for when you crash ![]() And have fun ![]()

...and they don't exactly take up a lot of space....
I had mine with me, the only time I was asked for any of them was for my passport at Dover and Calais, both by UK passport control. They also asked me if I had any knives or mace spray ![]() |
