It seems the Ducati's will be 3KG lighter at Silverstone:

If you actually read the article it's ridiculous !!

Why didn't they just put out a press announcement saying "Italian bike manufacturers are being beaten by too large a margin; so, rather than suggest that they build a bike that can take full advantage of the rules, we (the FIM) have decided to change the rules in their favour again"

What a farce - YET AGAIN !!!

Yeah it's BS. Always is in these sorts of things, touring cars is just the same. Any class which allows a wide variety of approaches always ends up penalising the successful and rewarding the failures with technical advantages to "level the playing field".

When I read it I thought, they are losing so they are giving them an advantage to get back into the racing. Is the FIM owned by Ducati then?

As I read it, both V twins and IL4's now weigh the same. As long as they don't let the Ducatis have a weight lighter than the IL4's I don't have a problem with it.

These regulations were in place IN CASE the Ducatis had an advantage. They haven't, so its not being used.

They (Ducati) have a 200cc "advantage" but are limited, by the laws of physics, to a safe piston speed so the 200cc isn't actually that much of an advantage.
