Default Just rear-ended someone

Sigh.

Bad month for RTC for me apparently.

On the M25 rush hour, behind a German Berlingo. Dont know what happened.

Well I do, I was too close. Just didnt react in time.

There goes 4 years No Claims (not protected).

Dented their boot, bumper. No damage to my car.

Wonder how much my insurancwe will now rape me for next year...currently £850 full comp for business use.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck sake.

As long as you're ok. It's only money/NCB/dented ego at the end of the day, you're still here for tomorrow

Noone was hurt, thank god.

They had KIDS in the back, I feel like such a cnut.

Obviously the couple were mad but calmed down quite quickly, and we departed with a shake of hands and the guy telling me not to worry, accidents happen.

I was just nearing my 5th year accident free (so I dont have to declare anything to new insurances). ARGH.

I know how you feel, hong. I had bad, stupid accident back in August 2003 (and managed to write off a Volvo!) and so went on a driving course to avoid Due Care And Attention and was accident free and was finally able to both renew my insurance without having to declare accidents and able to get my no claims protected.... then in August 2008 was overtired driving in for early shift in the morning, without thinking failed to give way and had a minor punt with a 4x4. The guy was only mad until he got out of the car and then it was all fine, accidents happen, even agreed to not go through insurance (that changed, but that's another story).

B*ggeration I thought. Then August 2009, wrote off my SV in another stupid crash, things aren't looking good, and now in April this year I have an 'at fault' claim because someone drove into my legally parked car and just fooked off and left it with £1500 damage.

Suffice it to say, August is NOT a good month for me so I will be taking it extemely easy at the AR and will likely just lock the car at work and take the train all month as I'm obviously cursed.

EDIT: The worst part of it for me right now is that out on the bike the last few weeks I'm finally feeling some proper confidence returning after my off and have to keep reminding myself 'take it easy, don't go nuts' as I might be getting overenthusiastic again.

I went into the back of a car on the bike at ooooh 3 miles an hour years ago.

From this I learned:
-Pay close attention to the vehicle in front
-Your insurance doesn't actually move too much as long as no one's hurt (Total cost of repairs was ~£350 sop I paid out of my own pocket as I had a £250 excess)
-Mercedes use expensive paint

Cheer up and let's have no more of this sillyness from you!
