Default Curvy - Cut out and died - diagnosis?

After a little birthday rideout this aft, nearly home and while stopped at traffic lights, the bike (01 Curvy S) just died. Not a nice present!
No ignition lights, no clicks, nothing.
Pushed the bike home and tested the battery terminal connections, all fine. Checked battery condition, fine.
Ignition lights came back but with very rapidly flashing fuel light (plenty of fuel left)
Tried to start the bike but apart from 'hissing/whirring' sound no attempted turnover at all.
Any ideas?

cheers

Daz

Check at the solenoid - the bit under the right side cover. Lift the green translucent cover and check two large terminals, the fuse holder and the four pin plug for security and condition. If not connected correctly the power to the ignition switch and the starter operation will not be reliable.
