My sv650 has a mass of approximately 200Kg and does approximately £70 worth of damage to the roads and environment; while a Toyota Prius coming close to 2000Kg containing batteries made of precious materials that undergo various processing resulting in the expulsion of a number of deadly chemicals, has 4 large wheels and manages to do even less milage than my sv650 does £0 worth of damage to the environment and doesn't effect the road surface at all.

I hate road tax.

If you wanted to divvy it up on road surface damage, cars and motorbike would all pay zero whereas buses and HGVs would pay an awful lot (figures vary, but easily 50,000x more)

Bike (649cc) is £70 as above. Car (2.0 TDi DSG) costs me £155. Add on fully comprehensive insurance for both, consider I've just turned 24... and you've got an expensive yearly bill
