I have had a courtesy bike for a month now and am giving it back in 2 days. I have just washed the bike and noticed signs of touch up paint used on the bar end and engine bars, also the bottom of the peg is broken off and looks like it has been previously glued on. I havnt dropeed the bike since ive had it in my ownership however i am afraid the courtesy company are unaware of the damage and will find me at fault as i signed an agreement when the bike arrived stating the condition. Any info or advice would be much appreciated. Cheerz
btw the courtesy bike is a gladius650 10 plate |

If you have signed for the bike saying it had no damage on it at the time of collection and they then notice it has damage you might be liable.
But, if you explain you have washed it and the paint has then become apparent, if you get a decent person when you take the bike back you might be OK. Although, I doubt they will care too much about the bar end and foot-peg, as long as it is still stright and true without bits missing most places take it back no issues... |

I really wouldn't worry too much. You have to remember the hire bikes are usually paid for after 5000ish miles, then they flog them for profit. The amount they charge back to insurance companies is crazy.
Like peeps have said. Go for a slow chilled bimble in this rubbish weather we are having. Job done.

yeah as said, when I had the 1250 bandit despite it being only 8 months old, they took the merest of glances over it on collecting.
Cheers Mark.

As DC says, and tomorrow it'll be tipping it down. Park as far away from the door as possible and have worst bit facing the wall. They probably wont even bother!

if your not a fault in an insurance claim then the insurance should pay, if it was your bike you wouldnt repair that damage, its not my fault this bike is damaged, its who ever caused the damage to your bikes fault,
Worked for me on a rented bike after someone hit mrs's dad's bike in America so i dont know if it will work back here. |

If they kick off, ask to see all the records. I had a similar issue over a hire car, the damage they tried to pin on me was recorded on a much older document. Live and Learn
