I`ll Never Make A Business Woman

Story starts this morning...........

Was working and was on my way to visit a patient when driving up a main road I saw an elderly man in an invalid carriage. As the man crossed the pavement and attempted to cross the road his carriage toppled over throwing him onto the road. There was nowhere to park on the main road so I nipped up a side street, parked the car then ran over to help him. He wasn`t hurt, just shaken up and together with a couple of guys we got him and his carriage upright and off they went on their merry way. I got back to my car and was overjoyed to find a parking ticket as in my haste I`d failed to see the sign stating it was a permit holders only space. Bugger I thought

At the end of my calls I decided to visit the car wash. The car wash is a disused garage that has been taken over by a company offering valets and car washing by hand etc. As I was waiting for my car to be washed and it was all soaped up a car pulled up alongside and one guy shouted out of the window enquiring how much I charged for a sex act involving ladies breasts and lots of soap!!!

After giving them an evil stare it suddenly occurred to me that I could have quickly shouted £25 thus earning the money that my parking ticket is going to cost me. How slow am I???????

Or would this maybe considered unprofessional seeing as how I was in uniform

Sorry to hear about the parking ticket though, typical when you were doing a good turn still, that good deed will repay itself tenfold (just not this time...) karma's good like that

Is the parking ticket from the council or from a private firm? Look closely, they are similar...

If it's from a private company ignore it and ALL following letters, the ticket is legally unenforceable and they know that, you won't get taken to court and they'll eventually give up

If it's from the council you might as well write a letter rejecting the ticket, at the very least it'll cost them the time it takes to print a standard rejection letter and the stamp to post it to you - make them earn their pound of flesh

Contest the ticket on the grounds that you are a nurse in uniform and stopped to deal with an emergency as you described.I mean the bloke falling over,not the proposition in the carwash.
As for the post title I would have to agree.A proper business woman would have charged a lot more than £25 thus factoring in a healthy profit margin.

Not so!

Write a letter asap, send it off. You will still be valid for the £25 fee as your appealing it within the timescale. Even if it goes over 14 days, you ahve replied within the 14 days so will not be charged the £50.

tbh, I think you've got good grounds for an appeal. Even more so if there is cctv around.
