Bent one of my r+g crash bungs last week, going to replace them with motosliders in a couple of weeks.
Just wondered if I remove the old r+g bungs to make it look a bit tidier in between getting the new ones is there anything I should be careful of, it's not like motosliders where I would have make sure I'm not missing a big bolt through the engine before riding it or anything is there? Thanks |

Did you fit the R&G's? if you did and still have all the original bolts/nuts then you can remove them and re-fit the original bits to hold it all together.
If not then you can still take the R&G's off but leave the brackets they are attached to in place until you get the new stuff, the brackets are bolted through and into the engine (the rear bolt goes all the way through the bike) The R&G bolts are all longer for the brackets so will bottom out without them. |

Another thought....
If it is just the bolt through the crash bung that's bent then why not just replace it? the tensile rating is cast into the head of the bolt (8.8 iirc) so a trip to B&Q with the bent bolt should see you with a replacement for a couple of quid. |
