Default Seat Cowl painting costs?

Does anyone else think £50 for a seat cowl to be sprayed is excessive.

It is being done by a professional Bike sprayer. Or is this the going rate?

Sounds about right I reckon, for a pro job.

I was given an estimate of around £175 for my lower fairing.

Custom painting is always expensive... its often not much more expensive to buy the part new in the colour you want, than buy it second hand and get it painted to the colour you want it.
(Unless it's a custom colour you're after of course...)

It's more that it is a part that is made fom fibre glass and supplied unpainted. It's a non OEM hump.

if you prep it properly and take your time you can get reasonable results with a rattle can...

Been there and done that before. Results = Shocking.

The bikes brand new so I want to cowl to match.

fair play, you will never get it as good as a pro job, you can do better than 'shocking' though, I'd grade my best efforts as 'alright'

My experience with rattle cans ended when I was 14 under bridges. I just can't get the finish. In particular the laquer.
