Default Which battery for an SV?

Hi all, I've done a search and read a fee posts but nothing to aid me..

I'm fed up of getting home from work (I work away) and trying to start my bike and the battery is dead! So I've decided to get someone to buy me a new battery as an Xmas present... Sad I know.

I haven't been out and bought one for a bike before, however, I'm not stupid and don't need help... But, I'm just after some advice with regards to experience.

My bike is kept outside under a cover and with the cold weather and a datatool alarm.... The battery doesn't like these!

So.. Has Anyone recommend me a battery that you have which holds a charge long enough to be in the cold for a good 10 or so days?!

If I have to dismantle the seat one more time for a dead battery I'm going to skip the bike..

Thanks!

Do a search on here, there's a few references to decent batteries, mostly Yuasa or Varta with at least 175 cold cranking performance. Think the model number is YT12B-BS for the 'better than stock' version (although could be wrong here), which is thinner, but also taller.

Stock battery is YTX12B-BS, however I just bought the YT12B-BS because it is thinner and will fit better behind my Gixer shock reservoir.

Use http://www.mdsbattery.co.uk/ and mention to him that you're off the SV650 site (he's on here as Batteryman) - you might just get a discount!

I got my battery for a very good price (cheaper than cheapest on eBay).

I used a taller yuasa YTX12-BS battery and got rid of the tray thing on top.
