Default Pointy tail tidy and luggage?

I have an 05 sv650 with full fairing, which ive fitted an R&G tail tidy to. Now decided to fit a full givi luggace rack for the summer to do some touring.
Has anyone else tried this? Will the givi racks (panniers included) clash with the tail tidy or is it not a problem?

Greatly appreciate your comments folks

**If it makes a difference, I'm probably going to get the monolock E470 topbox and E21 monokey panniers

I have just done this on my SV, however I have a hammicad tail tidy on.

The bar that runs along the back is an issue and depending on the angle of the R&G tail tidy would potentially will sit in the middle of the Reg.

I managed to drop the plate about 2 cms and set the bar in the fully up position which JUST sits above the registration plate numbers.

The actual GIVI design is supposed to be used with the plastic snow shovel where the indicators are bolted. The indicators then move to the Givi frame. I was just lucky that it seems to fit with hammicad tail tidy with everything in situ.

A word of warning the Givi pannier rack for the SV650 is discontinued at both the UK distributor and the at Givi in Italy. Your only chance of getting hold of of one of these now is from a UK supplier that is holding on. I know CMS in Exeter have one left, and that is the only supplier I could in the UK that had stock.

Here's mine:

Thanks for that! Hmm....probably going to be an issue then. So its going to be tail tidy or luggage rack and ugly rear end...

Also didn't realise about Givi discontinuing the racks... why is that? Given the popularity of the bike it sounds like a crazy decision to make

Anyone have any experience with any other hard luggage racks as well? Im looking at SW Motech but their considrably more expensive than Givi and Kappa...

The givi luggage on the SV isn't that popular if you actually look about the site and see it actually has it. I can think of one other member than me. I got an email Givi Italy and they stated they have been discountinued in all world markets because they don't sell that well. This is specifically the pannier rack.

I have fitted my luggage with a tail tidy, but mine is hamicad. So it is possible. I just can't recommend it will work with an R&G because I haven't tried. It is possible to move the back supporting bar into various positions away from the plate.

Your biggest struggle will be finding the full kit. Like I say CMS have one kit left, as I bought the other. So if you want to go for it, don't hang about?
