I have changed my exhaust system, think is I want to convert my old Blueflames to fit this system, To do that though I have to open up the connector to the exhaust as the output from the system is much bigger (70mm up from 48mm) so I need to weld on the back end of the exhausts a bigger pipe, also need to take out the internals and put in new bigger internal mesh I guess you call it.
So could anyone help? or give advice? Cheers all. Nick Some pics to show what I mean below. |

I was looking at doing some stainless welding with my mig. All thats needed is the stainless wire and the correct gas which was 5% co2 if I remember. Most people have told me its as easy as normal tin to work with.

I recently welded a ss exhaust for a forum member with my mig for the first time and it wasnt easy, the only way it would penetrate and run was higher power which if you stop for 1 sec longer will burn a hole in thin metal.
It wont come off but looked like crap but was hidden underneath the bike so not too bad. Go to a fabrication place and they will probably do it for a drink and they will no doubt have a tig welder. I had welded ss years ago quite well but with my old firms mig welder which was bigger and better, just hadnt tried it on my smaller one. |

greek fabricators will be easier as it is a exposed section and the finish need to be spot on

I can weld stainless with TIG but that is an exposed bit with not much chance to get warmed up.
I know a man who is a wizard with it though. Tool shop. Get stainless rivets. Also consider is it going to be worth just buying replacement endcaps instead? AFAIK you will be able to buy the bores from aa16 roadnrace or maybe beowulf. Beowulf are good for packing material, the stuff aa16 sell is absolute sh*te

I think the beowulf cans are a different shape to the blue flames. Could be worth asking at blue flame though. Might be a bitch slim chance, do you know of any dual output exhaust system with 70mm output to silencer?
