Default Spanner set recommendation

Got these for xmas and used them for the first time today.

The flex head ratchet makes life so much easier as your spanner doesn't need to be at 90 degrees to the nut or bolt, you can use whatever angle is most comfortable for the angle you are working at and the space available. Was removing a right footpeg bracket today and because of brake lever, brake cylinder, etc, restricting movement of a normal spanner, I'd only have been able to make small turns of the bolt, or resort to getting the socket set out. With these, no problem, straight off.

If you need a new set of spanners and want to spend £40 quid on a quality set, you could do a lot worse. I'd say the quality of the Halfords Advanced Professional stuff was as good as stuff I've seen from the likes of Teng Tools.

+1
I have had a set for a while. The little socket adaptor has been useful too, when I've needed to put in a low torque bold in an awkward place

Yep- got that the other day.

And I got a 64 piece halfords pro socket set for £50 instead of £110.

Oh. And I bought an Abba Stand (at last) and a cordless Dremel.

Tools, tools, tools!

I brought myself a set just before Christmas. Not used them yet but they do feel impressive. I am quite fond of the Halfords professional range and tend to look at around crimbo time each year when they have their sale to get something for the shrine..............I mean tool box.

Just used a couple of mine. Gave the bike a full service plus a couple of other bits. If you use the 14mm ratchet on the end of the hinged spark plug tool from the tool kit you can get the front plug out without too much trouble. Didn't even need to take the horn off on the curvy.

I've had a set of these for a few years now and have had no problem with them at all except my 17mm seems to have grown legs and buggered off!
Have also got a couple of the non swivel head which are also very good.

the ring spanners and sockets I've got from there are spot on. Never went wrong. The socket head allen heads seem decent for the price, the 6mm one i've got that been abused removing siezed bolts (hammers and industrial swearing involved)

Just bought a second set of flat side sockets (clarke tools) for £26 from machine mart to run the larger sockets.
