Sorry to bring this up again. I have run a search and read through 20 pages looking to make sense of it in relation to my specific question but anyway!
Basically im on a 33bhp restriction..im looking at a MIVV GP stubby can. MIVV supply their cans with 'collectors'. Does this class it as a 'full system' ? Does this then mean a 'remap' is required? And basically meaning i cant run it on my 33bhp restriction? The website claims the collectors have provision for the lambda sensor (which to my limited broscience alters the fuel/air), does that change anything? Sorry for nooby, reoccurring questions!! ..happy new year all! ![]() |

What year SV? If memory serves only the newer and SV1000 have Lambda sensors - someone will confirm.
I cant find any info about these collectors but I always deemed a "full system" to be just that - rigth from the cylinder blocks to end pipe. Anyhow, I see no reason you cant put it on, 33BHP or not. Having a remap done just ensures you get the best air/fuel mix for your setup - not doing it isnt going to break your bike. I think anything over stock system is an improvement! |

The collectors are linked here --> http://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk...oducts_id=2642
The can is linked here --> http://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk...oducts_id=2650 Its an 05. Im guessing this means it becomes a straight through system? Would there be any harm in whacking it on without this remap? (Are remaps possible on stock ECU's? (restricted ones :S)) And i dont really know where i can get it done? Am i looking for dyno testing/mapping sites? :S Sorry guys. ![]() |

Your K5 won't have a Lambda sensor, so no worrys there...
I wouldn't be too concerned about a remap as you're restricted. I ran my K5 with a full Akra system back....er....in 2005 but with a PCIII (powercommander) it made a noticeable difference after fitting the PCIII. (others may say they make no difference, but in my experience they do.) My K9 SV has a lambda probe, so I had to get my Akra system (new one) modded to allow for the probe. I also bought a PC for it, but it caused no end of headache, causing me to have my ECU remapped instead. Hope this helps |

So basically, get it, put it on, enjoy the noise it makes and dont worry about anything else til your restriction is up
