It's stored in the clocks.
Why might you need to make an alteration? The insurance co's don't particularly check.

its that annoying niggling law of sod.
i just know that if anything happened *touch wood* with the way economy/insurance companys are at the moment, they would check and moan that i had done considerably more mileage than on the paperwork, so it was just a thought. told them i would do 4000miles in a year.......13,500 later hehe |

Just phone them and say "I've nearly done all 4000 miles, how much would it be to extend my mileage allowance or should I just park it up until the end of the policy?" Chances are it won't be much.

I'd highly suggest against fiddling your clocks...if you were to have a serious smash up and your insurance co did check, you'd be in for a world of pain.
Really, just not worth it. |

Tom, seriously don't worry about it too much. Just do what Chris said and phone them up. Insurance companies have bandings. Often these are quite large. Once with direct line I was on 10k per year. Phoned them up and raised it to 20k with no charge. The operator said they had bandings for lower miles, then once 10k, wasn't another banding until 40k.
Even if they do charge, it won't be much. But whatever you do, do not sort it mechanically.....as like others have said you never know when you may need the org. Plus isnt it illegal? lol ![]()
