Default New end can and K&N filter - fuelling changes?

Ordered a Beowulf stainless end can and a K&N air filter for my pointy 04 plate. Been looking on the forum and seen conflicting evidence of what I need to do as regards rejetting/re-tuning. Both Beowulf and K&N say I won't need to alter anything. Is this correct? Please help and advise!!!

P.S I will be running the exhaust with baffle in if that makes any difference.

Just a run on its own will be around £30, if you want to mess around with new jets etc. then it depends how much time they'll need for it (buying a Dynojet kit isn't like a sticky plaster). For my 2pm, you can normally get away with adding K&N or noisy can and not rejet, although you won't get any improvements (to speak of). This doesn't mean it'll be running right, it just be running wrong enough to be a big deal, that's normally what they mean when they say it doesn't need rejetting (or it's just a stock replacement). If you'v eput both filger and can on then it's almost certainly worth rejetting it, and it might not run as well as befor eanywya, you'll know this better than me though.

I stuck a Beowulf and K&N filter on mine a while back. Didn't have to do anything else. Bike runs lovely, sounds great.

Hi, I put a Beowulf can on my curvey and was running lean as hell. So much so it was cutting out at idle. After searching on here and getting hardly any info I found this -

http://mickk.net/motorcycle/document...ting_Notes.pdf

This has really helped with my bike.
I read through it, then ordered some new main and pilot jets, fitted it all to the reccomended settings and it runs like a dream now.

The guide is meant for sv,s in oz but the stock settings are the same as uk.

As you will read in the guide you do have to rejett if you change can and filter allthough many people say you don't??

Have a read, hope it helps.

Big c

Bike probably running lean. Not good for engine in long run.

No jetting issues, a pointy's fuel injected so no carbs.

Unless the pipe is really free flowing, i.e full race, I would expect the FI electronics to cope, but a dyno run to check CO/NO may give piece of mind.

On a pointy you can get the ECU remapped, so don't need to consider power commander etc., although I need others to advise where/how good etc.
