Default sticky throttle

Is there a check list for a sticky throttle as it seems to be slow on the roll off

Is the throttle grip returning slowly or is it snapping back as normal but the revs are slow to drop?

Disconnect the cable from the twist grip. With the cable loose try pulling on the throttle cable and release it to see if the cables are sticking.

It should snap shut . If itdosnt try lubing the cables or replacing them.

Also check the throttle tube isnt sticking on the bars.

I had that on the SV and it was the carb linkage that was sticking. I lubricated the moving parts and it was fixed.

Not sure exactly how that translates to your bike but I would lift the tank and see what's moving when you twist the throttle, then lube those parts. Also worth checking the throttle cables are properly fixed at the engine side.

I had an odd one like this. It ended up being the carb heater temp sensor, cable tie had broken and it fell into the way of the linkage arm on the carb. New cable tie and all sorted!

Good shout - could be a physical obstruction. Contributing something useful on your first post eh? We'll need to keep an eye on you.

right had the same thing again tonight. it only seems to do it (do it worse) when the bike is hot and im in traffic. it then keeps it up.

lifting the tank when i got home the throttle is closing ok (if you turn the throttle back the cam sits on the throttle stop without resistance) and everything appears as it should. However its almost like its got no engine breaking if that makes sense. It takes a while for the revs to drop meaning off throttle is interesting!

can anyone help?
