What would you say was the best front fork conversion for an injection SV minitwin. Where at.... and what costs.

Racetec emmulators, Linear springs either K-Tech or Racetec and oil/air gap and spacers set to suit. Have won us 5 championships so far so they work very well and keep the fork simple without the retro fitting of a cartridge.

From a technical point of view I would say cartridges. You can get fully controlled damping and adjustability which is not possible with emulators.
If you want the "ultimate" then find out if you can get those tasty gas charged kits to fit the SV. But complete overkill.

Thats just the thing there are some very comprehensive kits out there, some of which though arent minitwin legal as your not allowed to change the fork caps. IMHO the emmulators when set up well with the correct oil/air gap to suit the rider work superbly and dont over complicate the fork. Lots of minitwin guys and gals run that setup.
TBH though the best front end...fit a GSXR front end from a K4 onwards bike..only downer is it not legal.!. |

You can change the fork caps Sarah. The rules state....
'Fork caps may not be modified or replaced beyond the homologated standard to allow external adjustments' As long as your kit does not allow you more than the pre-load adjustment, it's legal. ![]() |

Sadly the caps have to be the stock homologated items as sold with the bike new, even if they are say an Ohlins cap that only allows preload adjustment they arent allowed. This is a Q I posed to Mike who wrote the rules when we first started doing the forks.

I came to same conclusion myself and when doing cartridges just devise a way to attach the cartridges to the bottom of the stock caps. On 2gen the preload adjuster is disabled but still present and looking stock.
The caps are modified but not to allow adjustment so I reckon that's within the rules. Even with capability to have full comp and rebound adjustment.

You can do that, but you cant retro fit a different type of cap or install a kit that uses a different cap.

The rules are there to read. It states quite clearly what i have said. If Sarah is right, i suggest Mike re-writes them to state that.
