Default 2 piece leathers

oooohhh knowledgeable people of the org.

how is your zip connected to leather your jacket/trousers.

yes i know it by a zip but is the jacket zip connected to your linings or to the leather?

what's the difference between a 2 piece suit and a jacket/trouser combination?

My jacket zip is on the lining, my trousers zip is on the leather. But I don't have a matching pair so can't zip them together anyway. Really need to get the matching trousers

On my A* leathers the zip is on the outside of the trousers but on the inside of the jacket so you cant see the zip. They are both connected to the actual leather though as it's stronger.

There is no difference between a 2 piece suit and a combo just depends how it's sold.

what's the point of having the zip on the lining. the whole point of having zips is to keep the top half and the bottom half together in an accident is is not.

a little more on the story. my mtm leathers arrived today and while they fit (almost) the bloody zip on the jacket is on the lining. wtf, so i phoned them up and asked why. the answer i got was so the jacket can be worn without the trousers and its a jacket and trouser combination you ordered. if you wanted the zip on the leather then it's a 2 piece suit you want as the jacket is shorter so cant be worn on its own. i said at the time i like the style of the jacket and trousers but want a 2 piece with a 360 zip.

why would i want to wear the jacket on its own, i ride a bike i don't go down the pub pretending to ride a bike was my answer.

i also ordered 2 complete sets of removable linings and guess what i have got 2 waist coats for the jacket and no linings for the trousers. i also stated that i blooody hate mesh linings when i ordered them and guess what i got yup mesh linings.

ooohhh right sorry about that but it wasn't on the notes. i'll give them their due they have offered to make a complete new set for me.

no wonder British industry is going down the pan when people cant follow instructions properly.

so i'm a bit disappointed to say the least. i waited 8 blooody weeks for these to arrive.

oohhh and Darren the trousers are the best part of the set they are bloooody great. its just a pity that they dont connect to the jacket properly (in my opinion).

I see what they mean, A 2 piece race suit has a shorter jacket which doesn't cover your bum. A jacket designed to be worn on it's own has a longer jacket. If the liner was on the leather on the longer jacket it would be too low to attach to the trousers.

Sounds like a breakdown in communication to me. Or they just weren't listening.

Is that the dominator stuff you ordered? The zip in my dominator jacket is about 6 or 7 inches up from the bottom of the jacket.

yup its the dominator stuff. but it was supposed to be mtm but styled like the dominator. i'm not to happy as i have just found an 'alteration' list in one of the pockets.

same as mine the zip is on a huge flap attached to the lining. strange though as the zip part is in line with one of the seams in the jacket where the leather returns up inside to meet the lining. why ooohhh why couldn't they have just attached it there i dont know. if they had attached the zip there i would have been delighted, sort of.

i'm absolutely loving the trousers they are fantastic, they fit how they should. the jacket on the other hand is well lets just say not fitting as well as the trousers.

Not leathers but textiles so I apologise for the slight derail.
My Triumph suit only has a small zip at the back to attach the shortie jacket but the trousers have a complete zip as well as the short zip
The trousers are the same for the longer textile jacket which utilises the complete zip round the waist band
When I asked about it they said it was for frontal freedom of movement with the shortie jacket as the longer jacket allows for more movement.
I would have thought it the other way round as I would prefer less or no frontal movement should the short jacket ride up during an off
The outcome being that Triumph have sent me a zip for the longer jacket but it is about 2" longer than the shortie jacket so its back to the drawing board.
They have assured me that the jacket and trousers were thoroughly tested with the small zip with no problem and it is attached to the bottom of the back armour lining pocket to keep the armour from moving in an off

zips on linings to connect garments together are about as useful as a chocolate fire poker in my opinion. you would be as well not even using it as in a crash its just going to rip right off.
