Hi there,
I've been riding about happily on my SV650 for over a year now and haven't had a problem with cornering before. But lately I have started to feel the bike feeling a little wobbly/unsettled when going around corners at a decent speed. It feels like the rear isn't quite planted. I am wondering whether this behaviour is caused by the rear tyre squaring off? By my reckoning it's been about 6000miles since the rear tyre was replaced (by its previous owner). During this time it's been used on daily commutes and more recently 75 mile trips up and down the motorway on weekends... I've tried to take pictures to show how much it's worn. Plenty of tread left. http://s1141.photobucket.com/albums/...t=IMAG0221.jpg Any insight would be greatly appreciated. |

Looks like your tyre is just starting to square off, plenty of life left in it yet. The squaring shouldnt make much difference.
Have you checked your tyre pressures? And chain tightness? Sounds strange but mine felt awful one day and after tightening the chain it felt fine again. |

Check the state of the tyres, not just to see if they have squared off - no damage?

Will check the pressures and signs of damage tomorrow. Does anyone have the recommended pressures front/rear? I don't have my haynes with me at my flat

If memory serves, the Suzuki manual says 33 for both front and rear? Though it would make sense for the rear to be inflated a little more...

How old is the tyre? If it's a few years old I'd maybe change it...
