Default 2002 L/H Switch Gear

2002 Sv650s

My left hand switch gear has become loose and you can move the complete switch around the handlebar....
Before i start taking it apart does anyone know of an easy and permanent fix to sort this out......Is there a clip inside that holds it all together....
Im kind of weary of taking it apart ...

Barney...

there is a plastic lug on the inside of the switch housing which locates in a recess in the bars, it sounds like this bit has broken away.

Take it off the handlebar and check this is the case, if so get a selftapping screw, screw it into the centre of the broken base of the lug, cut the top off to a length of 4-5mm, make sure the thread part locates in the recess on the bar and re-assemble.

Cheers Mark.

You don't really need the plastic stud, it's more of a guide. If you take off the switchgear and wrap some tape around the bar and tighten up the screws it will hold fine.
