Standard forks come up nicely after a bit of fine emery paper and then Autosol treatment

I used some Nitromors on mine and it didn't peel any lacquer off, so I'm not convinced there was any.

A drill & a polishing mop will make quick work of any lacquer.

Forks come up real nice on the outside where you can see it, not so nice on the inside, but it doesn't matter so much

Nitromorse ain't strong enough. Get to a local DIY shop and find a ye olde paint stripper, the sort thats self nuetralising, and is so thick it won't drip. Paint on....watch that laquer bubble away!
