Default Breakers gone mad - high prices.

Hi,

I know i am fairly new to the forum but feel its beyond time and a joke. After having my SV binned by my pal and wanting to convert the bike to naked i have inevitably had to go on the parts hunt,

Thank god for this forum cause otherwise i would have lost it, Seriously now what is with the ridiculous prices breakers are asking for SV parts, can they not see the parts are ten a penny and charging so high is just gonna drive private sale.

Thanks for all the guys on here who are helping me out so much btw!!!

Anyone else feeling this?

Joe

I've just listed some naked parts at half the price of ebay in the for sale section.

What particular parts where you looking for, that you felt where being priced too high?....might provide a bit more meat on your rant

Dunno but like many folks on here, I've been buying parts way before the interwebz and Fleabay started (arguably) making some folks have a somewhat skewed(?) perception of what is/not an insane price.

By way, I'm not feeling it

This is why I skirt round the subject when mates ask if they can have a go on my bike.........I'd be using their body parts as donors if they binned any of mine!

Think yourself lucky you have an SV, where parts are ten a penny, a VRaptor indicator would set you back about 140 quid(if you are lucky to source one), a set of horns 340(maybe from Italy maybe not), which is why they get written off if its just scratched! Then folk wonder why I won't give em the keys

Indefinately a very fair point much like the parts for the GB500 so i spose the SV is a pretty nice change of scenery, Having said that the cost of things such as headlamp brackets for a SVn or bandit n for that matter and clocks i find ridiculous. Specifically the lamp brackets given what they actually are material wise.

But never mind, tbh the thread was more a place for appreciation a forum such as this ofr the advice, experience as well as the help sourcing such parts to keep these things running.

And also dizzy totally respect your point with regards to the bike being binned, valuable lesson learnt!

I would of let most mates go on my bike within the first few days of having it but I've become attached now so it's only me from now on.
