Default Help choosing new bike?

Can you folks give me your opinions.

Have a 600rr - unbeatable the right roads. Tiring and not comfy on long rides and tight gnarly roads. I'm 6'1

Looking at:

New Gixxer 750. Been told easier to ride and comfier for long rides. I'm wondering if the riding position is any better. Know it has adjustable pegs.

New 600F -have had 2 of these before

CBR1000r - never really ridden a naked/street bike before so no idea about the riding position
z1000 - as above
Street Triple - R as above

Basically I'm looking for something comfier that won't leave me knackered after a long ride, handles well on the tight twisties and the odd track day.

What about a blade?! 954 or 1000. Havent ridden them myself but both seem to get very good reviews. There bigger than than the 600rr so are meant to be more comfortable and not as crouched. Mite suit your height a bit more. Even though there bigger are supposed to be as nimble as the 600. Have adjustable pegs, wud be great on the twisties and for a trackday and have honda reliabilty?!

The naked bikes position might feel a bit alien at first, but it is quite easy to get used to. The main difference is the wind blast, which will tone down the speed for a while until you get used to it.

The CB1000R didn't really capture my excitement - I rode it back to back with the VFR1200, but it didn't give me the same feeling as the speed triple (which I was looking to swap from). Perfectly competent, but it didn't feel involving.
The Z1000 was exciting, in a similar manner to 600SS when the revs build and it takes off like a scalded cat, but it was tiny. My feet are a size 10, and with the balls of my feet on the pegs I felt I had to keep the heels off the exhaust.
I haven't ridden the street triple R enough distance to comment on it.

How did you find the VFR Orose?

Sorry for the derail stuarty. I would get some tests on the naked ones. More fun at saner speeds. Feels faster at these speeds too. Lovely whack of torque compared to what you are on the now.

It was a nice place to be... I rode both the manual and autos while waiting for the CB1000 to arrive. Not especially exciting, but quietly capable. Only downside is the cost, as making it anything like practical put the price up around 15k.

Thanks.

That's very interesting the +'s for the Blade. I'm looking for a new bike so the 954 is ruled out. I've ridden the Blade before and whilst it's a phenomenal bike, it's exactly the same position and size as the RR but with a LOT more power. There's too much power for the roads IMO.

On long rideouts in Scotland, the roads change frequently from A to B class and both the RR & blade are too track focussed for these frequent changes. I've had the RR for three years now and on fast flowing smooth roads, the bike is unbelievable and you can use the revs as they're meant to be. When you move on to B or tight twisty bumpy roads, it's like riding on wooden wheels and that coupled with the bike needing high revs, and changing 2-3 gears and hard braking, it's extremely tiring on the arms after a few miles. If I know I'm going on Gnarly roads and I'll dial in suspension settings beforehand to make it more comfy but this isn't practical if I'm out in a group.

Point in case was when I was out with Grant (Blue Flame) recently. On the flowing roads, the RR could leave the SV behind effortlessly but on the tight bumpy roads I would end up slowing the SV down. So, I'm looking for the best of both worlds.

I've been told the gixxer 750 as it's not as bonkers as the though but has enough low down power so that it has some engine breaking which means you're not up and down the gear box or braking quite as hard. It can be switched to 600 mode as well which has certain advantages.

Tuono and supermoto, I hadn't considered to be honest.

I need to have something sorted out for the 18th

Ducati Monster 696, 796,... physical size might be a bit on the small size for you.

Aprila 750 Shiver...

Or if you want something a taller, a Speed Triple
