Default Have things changed in the last 6 years

Been out of the saddle for the last 6 years but am really enjoying being back! There is one thing I have noticed though, bikers don't seem to acknowledge each other like they used to, there's me nodding away to other bikes and hardly ever get a response, or is it just me?

Yuuuuuuuup. Took a bimble to Brighton and back today and the missus and I both commented on the lack of returned hellos. Maybe 3/10 nodded back. Miserable b@stards

Weird how it spreads across the country , years ago you would come home with a sore neck from nodding like an executive desk toy . Don`t know why it started or when . I must admit I can miss a nod from somewhere if something with a higher priority arises such as a car changing lanes etc . But as a rule I do eyeball people long enough if it is safe to do so and nod .

I nod at every biker I see. Sometimes traffic becomes priority but all being well I'll be saying a silent hulloo.

Can someone please explain to me, as an avid motorcyclist, why I should expect other motorcyclists to nod to me, or why they should expect me to nod to them?

In life there are good people and there are bad people, and the same applies in motorcycling. I don't know those other people who are going the other way - one of them could be the scrote who nicked my mates bike last week, they could be a child molester or rapist. I don't know these people from Adam, and just because they ride a bike does not make them my friend or make me want to say hello to them. I see enough of them in the bike shop I work in to know that a fair few of them are feverishly practising Guy Martin's favourite bed game.

I accept there is a brotherhood amongst motorcyclists, and that we all sing from the same hymn sheet on certain issues, but lets get some perspective on this... I hate BMWs and Harleys because quite frankly both makes are crap, I really don't want to be seen nodding to riders of either type of bike because I have only slightly more respect for them than I do child molesters and rapists because of the terrible decision they made when choosing a new bike.

If you hadn't already guessed, I don't do the nodding thing.

On my way home from work the other night I had a scooter rider nod to me and it gave me a feeling I haven't had in years, I wanted to turn round and follow him then force him into a ditch. How dare he associate himself with me?

I was out cycling the other night and I nodded at a couple of guys on bikes, they didn't nod back, I presume they thought the girl on the push bike was mental.....
