Repair Fairings?

there is a small crack and some dents on the lhs of the front fairing on my sv650s (where the previous owner dropped it). So i went to the chips away in ferring to get a quote to fix it. The guy came out, had a look and said he didn't want to do it because:
-the fairing is crack and he wouldn't be able to fix it (because it's GRP not plastic)
-there is nothing he can do with the dents
-he wouldn't be able to match the colour (YC2)

how much of this is not right? it seems silly that they can't do it at all?
i have seen people on here have fairings repaired, where did you have it done? and how much did it cost? and was the colour matched right?

Put a fibreglass pad behind the cracks to reinforce them then grind out and fill the outside with boat GRP Filler-----Spraying either yourself or in a bodyshop

so the fairings are GRP?
and do you know of anyone around Sussex that would repair it? becuase the local person didn't think he could match the colour

I think you have been fobbed off because they did not want the job,
if you have or can get the colour code for your model[YC2?] ANY vehicle paint supplier can mix it either as an aerosol or paint.
Judging by the photo there is more work involved in getting the nose fairing off and on than the actual repair.

I have the same on my SV650S K3 also in YC2, pm sv_rory, he said he would do mine at a very good price, this included fixing and a full respray of the fairing.

Chips away are crap, the amount of cars I've had to do in various bodyshops that have been done by them is unreal!

As for the fairing i can repair that and paint it,

Due to it being a pearl over silver base colour you might get a slight difference but it wouldnt be that bad, thats why generally speaking you do the adjacent panels at the same time so that it matches better,
