Default Tank Pad Fitting?

I am looking to get a tankpad for the GSR however I have sealed the paintwork with autoglym extra gloss protection, will i need to remove this coating in order for the tankpad to stick to the bike and if so what is the best method to remove it?

According to the back of my bottle of AG Extra Gloss Protection it's a blend of waxes, resins and oils and so i would say you are right in believing you need to remove before fitting a tank pad.
From my experience of usage it doesn't stay working on paint forever so should be removable.
Also says on the back can be removed from surfaces with Car glass polish, Fast glass or Bumper care (presume these all have a solvent base). Other than that i would lightlyT-Cut the tank pad area only.
Trouble is you cannot see where ithe EGP is and where it isn't easily so not too agressive, a bit at a time, on the cutting back.
And make sure cutting agent is thoroughly removed before applying pad ( 50/50 clean water and alcohol is good).

When I have applied stompgrip in the past (assuming a fairly similar procedure for a tank pad), i have just sprayed the area with brake cleaner to get any wax or polish off. This should remove any products, and leave the area clean to apply the tank pad. The brake cleaner should then evaporate off, and shouldnt affect the paint work. Tho it may be worth testing on a little area just to check.

Just use your normal car wash juice.

Put a load in some hot water and give it a rub.

Works for me.
