What's the best/your favorite road to ride? Not for any perticular reason, it's just fun to share the experiance.
Personally, I love the Highwood Pass, here in Alberta. It's the highest road in North America and somewhere around 8000 feet. In a valley, surrounded by the rockey mountains. Takes about 2-3 hours to go through, had plenty of roadside stop areas, and it's quite windey. By far, my favorite road. For pics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highwood_Pass |

Kinlochleven road in Scotland, or a little wiggly one locally which is awesome fun. I'm sure there are better roads out there in the world but it's the fun you have on them that counts.

My favourite road is the A483 from Newtown to crossgates in mid Wales, but I actually like other roads as well but this one has it all.
I like parts of the a44 from crossgates as it's quite fast flowing but traffic and DWL's can spoil it at times. There are loads of roads I like snippets of, certain sections but the one above has the most. |

Locally, what Sally and Chris said.
Recent giggles in Europe: - ride up to La Bonette in France, - Marbella to Ronda, - Ronda to Gibraltar, - most N roads in Spain, especially the N260 - the whole length. Last edited by dyzio; 16-06-11 at 02:58 PM. |

Somewhere in deepest darkest France.
Although, I did slobber profusely on the Scottish roads. However can't beat riding our own roads in Yorkshire, specially those around Hawes.
