Hang on looking at the map there looks to be an interesting route via hatfield peveral ,Maldon way !

I do it in the opposited direction to get to the 8 Ball there's many variations and mostly good biking roads. See if you can find Creephedge Lane between East Hanningfield and South Woodham ....you won't be dissapointed

Yup, not long but good fun, you should arrive at The Hawk with a grin on your face, enjoy! Beware if you take the old Woodham Road after that, it's a good Road but was flooded near the Woodham end on Tuesday, probably clear now but take it easy on the first bend or you'll end up with brown trousers like me
