IT Bods - Engineer PDA + Backend systems

Do any of you IT lot have any experience dealing with the PDA's that people like Gas Engineers, Couriers, etc use, and the associated back ends?

In the near future I'm going to need to roll out a nationwide deployment for lots of contractors but have never dealt with this kind of thing before.

Companies, manufacturers, software packages, any at all to help in my research would be great.

I manage quite a large fleet of PDA users.
We use a system on the PDA's that ties with with our ERP system (Siclops/ Iris Software)
Its mainly XML Based but does run a mini SQL DB on the PDA side.
Our PDA's are all PSION Devices.
There is some sweet software called Sotti mobile control centre which I highly recommend you take a look at.
Sprite Clone also comes in handy for creating and restoring device images.

May I ask what your PDA system is used for?

Engineer job sheets, Time Sheets, Signature capture, issuing and requisitioning parts, barcode scanning of parts on the vans. Exchange email, and also use as a standard phone for calls and texts.
We are currently in talks with solavista and are looking to advance on from Siclops as its a little dated and restrictive.

That is exactly what I will be doing with mine if not a little less to start with.
