Default So... where ya been yester/to/day on your bike?

I met mate Andy at Telford Services J4 M54 and we took the scenic route round Shrewsbury, on through Ellesmere, Overton-on-Dee, Ruabon, to the Pondy, where we bumped into just a few others - place was busy today. Back via Chirk, St Martins, and Ellesmere. Andy was on his new drooltastic Tiger 800.

And you?

Went out with the 'old man' meandered down the A30 to the hill top cafe, then spured off towards the A36 to Southampton. Turned off onto the A27 heading to the back of Romsey, hooked a left and headed up to the A3057. Unfortunately the road was closed and we took a left onto the B3084. Oh man what a road that turned out to be, fantastic twisty roads. Especially through the hamlet sections, i was grinning inside my helmet! Followed the road along to the end and back onto the A30 and headed home. Was only out for 4 hours and covered 130miles. That did include a fuel stop and breakfast though! I'll be heading back that way when i'm next out on 2 wheels.

S'funny how an unplanned route can turn up trumps ain't it. Had a similar experience yesterday myself, the road I was aiming for was closed due to repair so I hung a left and discovered a cracking backwoods route through a forest, hardly any traffic and wonderfully eerie when I stopped for a fag break.

Too right, some of the best days riding are taking random turns and following the road. Trying to plan a trip like this next year

I'm planning to ride to a location as a base camp, mid Wales is my aim. Then everyday go out a different way and explore new roads. The only way i could plan an unplanned route would be if i had alzheimers
