Default Rules on running a front mudgaurd

Is it legal to run no mudguard?

Even if the rules don't allow it, running a bike with no front mudguard in the wet is going to mean you can't see a damn thing even if you are out in the lead!

i seem to remember some 125 gp bikes with no mudgaurd to aid cooling. On a minitwin, however, I've no idea!

bottom rule fairing and seat unit
Fairing, mudguards and seat unit may be altered or replaced and need not conform to the homologated shape as originally produced by the manufacturer.

Doesnt say removed though so it looks like you have to have one but it doesnt have to be original

I'm sure there's rules in the ACU handbook regarding front mudguards but can't find my copy.

Yes thats what I read that you can change fairings etc, hhhmmm maybe if I changed it for fresh air or would that be useing to much "artistic license". And I agree in the wet it will be back on or you are blinded, I would say the spray from the person infront would be just as bad with a mudgaurd on but that bit is not a problem when your infront .........(or too far behind cant wait to find out which next year)
