...and does it usually work out that much cheaper to buy them yourself and get them fitted at a tyre shop?
Has anyone tried Pilot Road 3's? I had PR2's on me old SRAD and they were brilliant. Tempted to try the road 3's but thinking if the 2's were good enough, why spend extra money on a tyre which I might end up actually not liking as much?

Round here (ish) I've not found anyone cheaper than Woosters.
Failing that ebay is cheapest Most garages with the hyraulic fitting machine seem to take £10 per tyre to put it on the rim (but thats if you take the wheels to them OFF the bike). If you take your wheels up to woosters they have the machines there and will fit them there and then. ALWAYS CALL FIRST THEY DONT SEEM TO WORK TO GMT. If you wanted to mount the rubber your self then you'd save even more but from what I've been told its a pucking fain and then you've got to balance them too so :S |

pit stop in hudds are the new place i will buy tyres from. cheap as anywhere else if you ask. you can ride in and use all their stands/tools to remove your own wheels and they will fit for free if you do.

I've done about 4k on my pr3's so far, decent tyre.
Did feel strange at first, felt more movement under braking. Got used to them now and they do offer confidence in bucket loads. Quite a few have them on now... http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=162708 |
