Whats going on with the moon.
Something was bought to my attention the other day and I remembered this thread:
http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...highlight=moon Now if you look at the current photos (2011) on the first page by mister c and kenzie and then go to page 2 and look at grimey121uk's photo which was taken in 2008 and TC3 which was old aswell. It seems as if the moon has rotated 90 degrees. Can anyone explain this?

im pretty sure the moon is slightly spinning, from waaay back when it exploded out of the earth

Naah, the moon is tidally locked with one side facing the earth all the time.

I would imagine a combination of the following
1 - the moon does not orbit the earth in a "flat" orbit relative to the earths equator 2 - the earth's axis is tilted about 20 degrees 3 - the moon has a tilted axis relative to the earths equator So the angle in which we view the moon depends on where the moon is around the earth etc This will make more sense http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CswzrzqmvOA Last edited by grimey121uk; 05-01-12 at 08:16 PM. |

wow just been out to look at it, very very bright tonight. theres some topics on the net about it possibly moving a bit, most of them conspiracy cack, but then the japanese earthquake last year did tilt the earth by a fraction. maybe its linked.

may be, just may be some photos were taken in the Summer... and some might have been taken in the winter.... :0)

As well as the polar shift, the earth has also got a bit of a wobble on... it's the drink. Its one of the reasons for global warming and the ice caps melting.

if you took a photo of the moon from Australia then would it not appear upside down? and maybe someone took a photo of the moon from the equator area so it appears 90 degrees out.... or maybe they tilled their camera :0)
