Default how to make a sv650 feel new?

oh mighty forum,

my sv650 has done 35,000 miles now and its not fun to ride any more, and as summer is coming up and my GF possibly doing her test. i want to make the sv650 feel like its only done 3,000 miles. i used to own a 2005 sv650 which had 10k on the clock and it was lovely to ride, and my GF had a few goes on it and liked it as well. But she hates my 2003.

but i dont think she wants to ride my current sv650 work bike when she pass's her test, and neither do i, but i want a small project for summer to work on, what is a good list of things to replace / carry out on my bike to make it feel new again mechanically?

not looking at spending vast amounts of money on a new engine etc but things like new clutch seems to be one of them:

Good service, plugs, oil, filter, fuel filter, air filter.

Balance throttle bodies, mine were well out after 40k without a check.

see if swingarm has any play or shock linkage etc. Could look to service brakes give them some fresh bite.

Maybe new fork springs and gsxr rear shock if not done already.

Blueprint the engine/full service
New consumables- C&S, clutch plates, Cush Rubbers
Replace fluid in the forks
New or upgraded shock
New wheel bearings
Head Race bearings
Grease as many joints as you can

I guess that's a good start.

Get a replacement rear shock and grease up the linkages when you fit it.Replace the oil in the forks.Make sure the chain and sprockets are in good nick, lubed and adjusted and a set of new tyres will make it feel 100% better.

Yeah Cush rubbers that the sprocket carrier slots into.

Fork oil your looking at around a tenner for a litre. Which is enough for both forks as far as I'm aware.

its fine if he is rubbing that in your face. just remind him how much his services are and how much this would cost on his bike.
