I've been looking out for an "FH" Mosfet type reg/rec to upgrade my curvey for a while now, and thought I'd found just the job. This was described not only in the title but also in the text/discussion as "new and unused", bought in error from dealer. Buy it now, so I did. Delivered today (very promptly).
Ermmmm, new and unused, I don't think so. I told the seller it was used, he says it's new and I'm trying to scam him. Oh well, these things are sent to try us. I paid a bit over the odds for a used one, but not drastically so. What do you think? Yes, that is road dirt between the fins, scuffs on the connector housings and fastener marks round the bolt holes. It's probably perfectly serviceable, just un-necessary hassle. Not looking for discussion on how to tackle the transaction, just mildly venting spleen. Hope it's not an "org" member! ![]()

Take it up with eBay. As bad as it can be they always will side with the buyer, no matter what. Easily get your money back

that's like the averts of 'new - only fitted once'...lol
if its described as new it should be new. someone is trying their luck as they bought the wrong part so trying to fob it off. |

It'll be a no brainer with ebay, his story actually described having fitted it to the bike in his garage, it didn't fix the electrical problem, so it was removed again without having left the garage. Well that in itself means it is technically not "new and unused", and it clearly has marks which it shouldn't in order to comply. He doesn't seem to quite grasp the terms.
I was prepared to accept it as being "n&u" for all practical purposes (if the story was true), but under such circumstances most ebayers would describe it as used with a description of the history so near enough new. This isn't even nearly new. As said, just hassle. It'll get sorted.

Was originally going to say dispute it for the pure cheek but just saw your last comment. If he put that in the description then I'd say fair enough. At the end of the day do you care if your reg/rec has small scratches on? All you need to know is that it hasn't been on a bike for miles and miles and mistreated.

I use eBay ALOT and so generally I have a good outcome, sometimes though you meet the odd tosser who doesnt understand the concept of customer service.
Bought a nice Ducati Monster recently for the mrs, agree to collect as I have a van. Long drive so booked a hotel room and set off. 100 miles from home I get a text "problem with bike, will give you a call next week" WTF????? Pulled up at the services and phoned..... text back "sorry at work cant speak". What a total w@nker. |

Yep, had the first problem I've had for ages.
Bought a handle bar stem for my push bike, went to fit it last night and no way will it fit, too loose. Did a bit of Google-ing to find it needs a special eccentric shim, which is used to alter the rise, and also won't fit the steer tube. So no good for my bike, told seller going to return after telling him the above, waiting for a reply, but guess I will have to start PP dispute
