Have the general public had a memory wipe or something?
Labour have had a successful night, wtf? It was them idiots who got us in the doo doo in the first place, the Tories have had to make unpopular cuts and changes to attempt to reduce the deficit, a deficit which was created by labour. What do they think labour can do differently? They will either spend again or heavily tax us, there is no other option for them. Do the public think the tories like making unpopular changes and cuts? If they could don't they think they would love to give us tax breaks etc? Fickle voting will cost us dearly. Rant postponed. |

Throughout the history of local elections the opposition have always gained nothing new here.

Yes, my local council has just gone red. I cannot understand it. We actually had a reduction (only small) in our council tax and the new lots blurb proposed spending not saving money.
I put a lot of this down to the unfairness of council taxes where those that pay the rates are the minority of voters. So too many the cost of local councils is meaningless.

Dunno what you're grumbling about. I can't see the difference between the two parties. They're both full of equally incompetent, dogma driven, self interested twits. Oh, and so is that other crowd of traiterous turncoats currently in bed with the tories.

Standard mate. Mid-terms generally go quite far the other way. Also with it this way round labour seem to be much better at the mud slinging - and the press have loved that and not exactly been impartial.
It is amazing that it's happened given that a lot of people vote based on national coverage and the reds have such a limp wristed leader. Don't forget, they've had to do what they can in the first half of the term so they can tone it down later to appease fickle voters. |

That's because they are all in the same club. They are the same organisation, just a different department. They flip coins to see who does what next, you don't really think voting is what chooses who does what next do you??

Agreed. I don't know how anyone could vote Labour when they're a bunch of irresponsible clowns. Mind you, I don't know how anyone can vote Torie or Lib Dem either. All a bunch of clowns.
I say we put together a biker party.

Labour = high taxation, high borrowing, high spending and middle England suffers.
Cons = Low spending, low borrowing, low(er) taxation and middle England suffers. Liberals = High taxation, low spending and everyone suffers. None of them really care about Joe Public
