I think his family commitments got the better of him ..fair play for putting his family first. Won a few championships and beat some decent riders.

He's gotta be back though surely its just having a new baby that's inspired this.

Fair play to him, no better to way to retire than at the top of your game.

Its just going to get more boring now as there is one less person fighting for lead.

You might not like Stoner as a person, but he can sure ride a MotoGP bike fast.

I can't say I'll miss him. He's the most talented rider out there but I just can't relate to a guy who isn't actually interested in being there, following on from stomach cramps and arm pump and chattering etc

I can imagine Lorenzo is stoked though for next season

Here here
Looks like he's aiming to do a Troy Bayliss. Honda is going to chuck everything at the championship now.

Anyone like to see Stoner on the Duc and shame no46?

What does no46 have to prove exactly? he rides at the top of his game year after year then BAM, all of a sudden he goes backwards. What changed? The bike, thats what.

There is no other way to compare rider against rider other than to give them time to race against each other on the same machinery. which of course will never happen.
