I contacted B&C yesterday and they have quoted £157 inc. p+p for a Tsubaki sigma chain and JT sprocket set. They also suggested a Renthal heavy duty chain with the same sprockets for £140.
Is the Sigma worth the extra £17 or shall I save missing about and being tight? |

Buy the Tsubaki over the Renthal.

I got an OEM chain kit (chain and sprockets) for about that much from a Suzuki Dealer.
Called them to confirm stiock, walked in, paid, walked out.

OEM chain is endless isn't it rather than rivet link?

Tsubaki.
The sigma is the equivalent of the grade above the stock chain.

Chains are rated--eg 9000,10,0000, 10+ in accordance with the power output they are required to drive. So considering the power output of an SV against a 160+bhp sports bike which the top rated chains are for is it always worth the extra expenditure?.
Tthe lesser rated chain/sprocket kits have a 12,000 mile warranty,be it O ring or X where as the top rated normally have a 20,000mile warranty. A lot depends on whether you give it constant attention as even the top rated chains will give up with neglect in a short period of time/miles All down to finances and what you can afford |

If the extra cash means extra miles then i'll go for it. I've got my current set to last for about 25,000 miles so anything like that would be good.
Cheers. |
