Default SK6 Throttle Bodies Synchronisation?

Going to be servicing my bike over the next few the weeks when I find the time to complete each job.

Only 2 jobs I haven't done before which are valve clearances and throttle bodies sync. I'm certain I can do both myself and would rather spend money on the tools for the job over paying someone else to do it for me.

So for the throttle body sync, the Haynes manual says to use vacuum gauges or calibrated tubes.

So first questions are where and what to buy for the vacuum gauges...?

I can find plenty of gauges for carbs but not FI or are they one in the same?

Also any hints and tips for the job would be sweet!

I've done a search and theres info for SV1000's, 650 k7-on but none that I could find for a k6

Cheers.

Get yourself the pipe extensions from bib. What will be a fiddly job 1st time will become a doddle next time & you will balance them more than once when you notice the difference it makes. May i also suggest you do the tps adjustment as well?

...and for valve clearances, get a set of feeler gauges from ebay or Halfrauds. They're only cheap but will be used time and time again.

Valve clearances are easy, takes a while once you first do it, but piece of proverbial once you know what you're doing.

got some feeler gauges somewhere, just need to dig them out. I'll more than likely get that kit off Bibio.

As for the valve clearances, how likely is it I'll need to/ should I change the valve cover gaskets? If I need to, where can you get them from and how much?

Cheers guys

That Carbtune is on my wish list, even if just having it makes me look like I know what I'm doing... Seems I'll have to save up for a while before I can do the sync. I'll do TPS at the same time sort of time as well.

Bib, sorry if this is a question for the dribbly bus but what the difference between the standard kit and the one with the 'oiler T.' Whatever it is?

Unlikely you'll need to change them, just be careful when you clean them up.

As for where you can get them from and a price, stop being a lazy barsteward and look them up on a parts fiche and then get a price off of an online dealer or the Suzuki website....FFS
