![]() ![]() Not much else needed really! 6% and ice cold. Sunshine out on the decking, chickens clucking and the cat sprawled in the sun. BBQ maple and orange chicken with home grown salad and potato salad, coleslaw and sweet cherry tomatoes for tea. Happiness. On the flip side, I've buggered my elbow again and ripped my quad scrapping with a drink driver, so feeling sore again ![]() Cheers everyone, have a pint in the sun, smile a bit and relax. Reminds me of getting really drunk on scrumpy as a kid.

Four litres of cheap Tesco apple juice, 74p per litre, 250 grams of sugar and a sachet of cider yeast. Leave to bubble in an air locked demijohn four about two weeks. The fermentation will have finished after one week, the second week is to clear the cider. Bottle with half a teaspoon of sugar in each bottle. I leave them for at least four weeks to clear further and carbonate. Chill, Drink etc. Pete ![]() |

Where do you leave the demijohn to ferment? What sort of temperature?

Just on the table in the dining room Chris. Whatever temp that is, just leave it until its relatively clear before bottling.
It's important to use the right yeast though. http://www.goodlifehomebrew.com/vint...-yeast-sn9.php Last edited by Bluepete; 22-05-12 at 03:04 PM. |

and for flavoured add some essence of your choice to the demi when bottling. i also tended to use another container for bottling this way you can add dissolved priming sugar to the batch instead of granular in each bottle.
