Well here's the story,
I did a front end conversion and therefore have gsxr clipons.. The probolt bar ends I have grip the throttle so I can't use them. I'm thinking that any original Suzuki bar ends should fit and won't grip the throttle? |

Could you show us a picture side on of the bar ends, I don't mind about the damage it's the spacing of the bar end on the throttle side I'm worried about. Sorry to be a pain

What kind of probolt bar ends do you have? If they are the universal fit ones, then you just need to back them out a bit and then tighten the screw.

Have you thought about fitting a washer between the bar and bar end?

Yeh the universal ones..
I've got all kinds of spacers and washers and have tried many times it just doesn't work.. When you tighten it, it just gets closer and closer to the throttle.. Pulling it out and tightening doesn't make it tight enough and comes loose. I lost one bar end that way! I'll post a photo of what setup I'm using when I get home in about an hour. |

Mate, trust me. I've had this issue. If they are universal they are designed to expand at any point in the tube (far as I know the GSXR tube isn't an odd size but I could be wrong). With my current pair, I was conscious of the same thing. Even worse, I have heated grips. My original bar end fell out because I loosened it to clear the grips, and it simply worked its way out on a trackday.
What I did with the universal was tighten to an inch or so out so that there's resistance to pushing it any further by hand. Now this will look odd. But then I used a mallet (not hammer. Any appropriately weighted item will do) and tapped it in slowly before tightening the rest of the way when it was exactly where i wanted it. Its now approx 1/2cm from the grip but I can live with that. More importantly, it wont come loose and doesn't interfere with the throttle. This is my suggestion but good luck with whatever option you choose. |
