Chris's defibrillator kicked in several times today while on Holiday. He's OK but in ICU. His mum will be out there by 5am and I will update you when I know more.

Now I'm home I can give a bit more info.

Chris is in Crete with Alex and Matt who he went travelling with before. Sounds like the boys had a big night last night, Chris was sick and the vomiting made his potassium levels drop which set off the arrhythmia and so his heart went into fibrillation.

Luckily he had the defibrillator fitted last year and this kicked in but Chris would have felt like he'd been thumped in the chest with a shovel. He's now in ICU, and stable. His parents will be out there tomorrow.

Not sure yet how long they will keep him in for but what is certain is that he'll now lose his driving licence for 6 months at least. He'll be severely hacked off about that but without the defib that might have been the end of him today.

Any messages posted on here and on my FB page will be passed on via his Mum.

I'll update everyone when I've spoken to his Mum or Alex tomorrow.

Poor Alex and Matt. He never does it when we spend the weekend together.
